I don't want to put on weight when I stop smoking!

cigarette smokeThis is one of the strongest reasons that smokers are reluctant to quit. We’ve all seen people stop smoking and gain weight. However, not everyone does and we stop this occurring when you quit with us.

Sugar is used in the manufacture of cigarettes. As well, the curing process for tobacco causes the starch in the plant to ferment to sugar. Every time that you smoke a cigarette, your subconscious notices the sugar. Your conscious won’t notice so you are completely unaware of the problem.

When you quit smoking, your subconscious may crave sugar. If you think about it, most people who quit smoking and gain weight stopped cold turkey and have craved sweet things ever since – lollies, chocolates, cakes, biscuits, etc.

At Act Now Hypnosis, our hypnosis takes the sugar issue into account and we treat for that during the session. The consequence is that you may have a gain of a half kilo or so due your body adapting to not being permanently dehydrated. This gain is fluid and not fat.
